Table Making Phases
If you cannot afford to purchase the table, you can make one of your own at
home. Here are the steps involved:
• Crafting the Poker Table
1.) Cut 4” x 8” of plywood and form it into an oval shape. Use this part for
the table top.
2.) Get a second piece of plywood and lay the first cut part on top of it.
Cut the plywood in the same size and shape as the first one. In the second
piece, measure about 5 inches of oval shape in the center and cut it out.
The cut portion should be set aside for later use.
3.) Mark the tabletop 1 inch all around. Drill holes to insert the jigsaw
blade and cut it all around in a single piece to form as the lower rail.
4.) Using wood screws, attach the upper and lower rails. Smooth the edges
with the use of a sander.
5.) Lay down the table top and glue the inside portion from Step 3. Attach
the two pieces together using the drill and screws. Attach the legs under
the poker table and turn the right side up after.
6.) Clean the table with the use of saw dust and paint it using a 3M spray.
Glue the foam on top of the table and cover with velveteen. Make sure to
pull the sheet tight and staple it on the sides. Trim off the excess
velveteen to make the poker table look clean.
• Attaching the Vinyl and Rail Padding
- Two side pieces of foam should be cut for the side rails. The foam is then
glued to the railing with the use of 3M glue.
- On the back part of the vinyl, put the railing face down. Pull the vinyl
tight and staple on the sides. Work 4 inches apart at a time for a better
outcome.
- Using a razor blade, cut the needed portions inside the rail. The excess
vinyl should be cut, pulled tight and stapled to the rail.
- Lastly, set the railing in place and bolt it from the underside of the
poker table.
