1st Phase: The person situated at the left of the “button” dispatches the
small blind.
2nd Phase: The player seated at the left of the small blind forwards the big
blind.
3rd Phase: Each of the players is distributed with two faced-down cards.
4th Phase: The player at the left side of the big blind is the first to
wager. When called upon to act, the big and small blinds may check, fold,
raise or call as appropriate.
5th Phase: The Flop then happens when the casino dealer reveals three
community cards and burns a single card.
6th Phase: The Turn comes next wherein the dealer reveals one community card
and burns one card.
7th Phase: The third wager starts with the player seated at the left of the
button.
8th Phase: The River, as it is called, happens when the casino dealer flips
one community card and burns one card.
9th Phase: The rest of the betting will start with the gamer seated to the
left side of the button.
10th Phase: The money is then awarded to the winner in the card showdown.
11th Phase: The dealer button is then passed on by one player in a clockwise
manner.
Texas poker makes use of a dealer button to signify an imaginary dealer. The
button moves or advances to the next active player after each turn have been
completed. Once the “button” is passed to the next player, that gamer is
considered the dealer for that specific hand.
Detailed Mechanics for Each of the Texas Poker Rounds
• The First Round
The small blind is posted by the player seated at the left of the button.
The value of this blind is half of the amount of the big blind. All the
blinds are considered live bets which allow every player to call, check,
fold or raise when the betting returns to their position.
As soon as the blinds have bee posted, every player is given two hole cards.
After which, the betting begins with the player seated at the left of the
big blind.
• Second, Third And Fourth Rounds
The second round in Texas poker takes place when The Flop is set by the
dealer. The third round follows once The Turn is made. The River comes last
and is the fourth round set by the dealer.
• The Cash Showdown
After the last betting round, the card showdown takes place. All players
display their cards and more winners will be declared. The five cards must
be faced up to determine winnings. The player may use the following
combinations in a Texas poker game:
- three community cards plus both hole cards
- four community cards plus one hole card
- five of the community cards present on the Texas poker board
